Midthunder is part of the Fort Peck Assiniboine Tribe. Her birthplace was Shiprock, New Mexico on the Navajo Nation. Amber has been identified as Native American on her father's side, and both are an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe. Amber's mother is adopted which means that Amber is not sure of her ancestral lineage.
